Annie Glenn-Blea graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine and went on to complete an internship at Pioneer Equine in Oakdale, CA. From there she worked in a large performance horse practice in Orange County, CA, before moving to head up the equine division of a mixed animal practice in northern Arizona. California came calling again and she returned to open her own practice, Katy G Equine, in 1997 serving Los Angeles and Orange counties. She practiced full time for 15 years before stepping back to be a full time parent to her two daughters. In 2019, she decided to return to school and earned her certificate of Veterinary Medical Acupuncture from Curacore Vet in Colorado. Katy G Equine now operates as a practice which solely focuses on integrative medicine and acupuncture with an emphasis on recovery and rehabilitation of the performance horse.

Dr. Glenn-Blea is asked often: “Who is Katy?”. At this, she smiles and is happy to explain that Katy, was her older sister who passed away at age five. Her family owned a ranch in southern Arizona for thirty years, named the Katy G Ranch. After her father passed away in 1997, it was sold. This coincided with the launch of her own practice in Southern California in 1997 and with her mom’s blessing, she retained the rights to the Katy G brand above. “It is an honor to have my practice named after my sister and a place that holds many special memories of love, loyalty and strength. I could not ask for better angels above to help me care for the horses below.” Annie
